Shilstone Notebooks
The Shilstone Notebooks Collection chronicles information on various Barbadian subjects collected by the lawyer, Eustace Shilstone. It contains information on the Quakers, legislative proceedings, church history, the railway and vestry minutes, and several prominent Barbadian families, and has been digitised.
Eustace Shilstone, for whom the Museum’s library is named, was a solicitor and one of the founders and later President of the Barbados Museum & Historical Society. He was a prolific and frequently anonymous contributor to the Journal of the Barbados Museum & Historical Society and is considered one of the first Librarians of the Museum.
