Rare Books
Rare 17th – 20th century imprints and local publications are included in this collection. One of its most well-known items is the first edition of Ligon’s True and Exact History of Barbados.
This book captures a survey of the natural, social, and economic phenomena Richard Ligon observed during his three years in Barbados during the late 1640s. The publication includes the first map of Barbados produced by a European (Ligon), as well as sketches of plants, architecture, and machinery used in sugar production at that time.
