Donation Policy

Introduction

At the Barbados Museum & Historical Society (BMHS), we are dedicated to transparency and integrity in our fundraising efforts. This donation policy outlines how we handle contributions, ensuring our donors and financial institutions are satisfied with our practices.

Donations to the BMHS are used to support the conservation of artefacts, educational programs, research, community outreach, digitisation, temporary exhibitions, acquisitions and research. We are committed to using the funds responsibly and for the intended purpose.

2. Acceptable Forms of Donations

We accept donations in the following forms:

  • Credit/Debit cards
  • PayPal or other secure online payment platforms
  • Bank transfers
  • Cheques made payable to The Barbados Museum & Historical Society

3. Donation Frequency and Amounts

Donors can choose to make one-time contributions or set up recurring monthly, quarterly, or yearly donations. There is no minimum donation amount, and all donations are appreciated and will contribute to our mission.

4. Payment Processing

  • All transactions are encrypted to protect donor information.

While we appreciate every contribution, we understand that circumstances can change. Therefore, if a donor wishes to request a refund, they must do so within 7 days of the donation by contacting us at finance@barbmuse.org.bb. Refund requests will be reviewed and processed at our discretion.

We value your privacy. Donor information will be kept confidential and will not be sold or shared with third parties, except as required by law.
