We are on a mission to keep the history of Barbados alive and ensure our unique stories are told. To achieve this mission, the Barbados Museum & Historical Society has a host of educational initiatives to share this wealth of information with Barbados and the World.
We create:
- Engaging community outreach programmes to share the history and culture of Barbados with the average Barbadian
- Structured learning opportunities in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training and various learning institutions at all levels
- Youth outreach programmes to excite our future leaders including structured internships, Junior Curators, Heritage Champions, Lil Heritage Champs, and Wee Heritage Champions
- Workshops specific to heritage, culture, and history that focus particularly on facilitating heritage education and international academic conferences
Interested in a School Visit or Presentation?
Virtual or in-person, we prepare topic-specific presentations for schools, groups and organisations on the subjects of heritage, history, and culture. Send us an email at educate@barbmuse.org.bb to begin the process. Ask us about our History Group!
