On Saturday, August 24th, 2024, The Barbados Museum & Historical Society had the privilege of welcoming African stateswoman and former First Lady of Mozambique and South Africa, Dame Graça Machel.
Her visit was a highlight of the Barbados/Africa Connections session, where she engaged deeply with the museum's mission.
During her tour, Dame Machel explored key exhibits, including LOOKA: Dismantling the Colonial Gaze, the Cunard Gallery, and The Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers: In His Own Words.
